I ran across this pig with heart shaped spots on Jezebel. I bit. I read the accompanying article, the last line of which reads:

“There has been a lot of interest because they are a fatty breed and it’s a different taste to the normal type of pig - it’s much more succulent.”

Which makes the article photo below slightly more sinister than I first interpreted it.

That, folks, is the face of a woman who knows she has access to superior bacon.

How does this relate to design you might ask? Well, when the livestock begin sprouting unusually shaped spots to get us to notice/eat them, I say that’s news. Maybe the biggest news since brightly colored fruit.

But, also, I am serious about bacon. This morning, I’ve already read a Bacon Sestina written by a Jewish genius. I can’t imagine anything sweeter than eating a fistful of bacon, except eating a fistful of verboten bacon and shaking off the shackles of ancient Hebrew tradition.
