LePhotique selects vintage images and applies them to translucent plastic. The result is refined, modern vintage jewelry that is pretty great and affordable. In particular, I am a fan of her idea to create furniture jewelry that features classically designed chairs.

I like the nod to that area of design and would love to see more of her work in that vein…especially pieces that featured tables and wooden chairs. I would love a Frank Lloyd Wright Barrell chair necklace or a Charles Rennie Mackintosh brooch. Something like that, you know, but without the massive copyright issues.

Anyway. Go see LePhotique’s Etsy shop!

I really like these dove hairpins for $5 at paperspoon’s Etsy shop. Very Twin Peaks. She also makes lots of great earrings.

Check out more black and white porcelain from Kristen K. Swanson at her Etsy shop.

I love the thinking behind her porcelain ring boxes! It’s nice to see an innovative, modern take on antique French porcelain ring boxes - which are beautiful but generally pretty flowery. I would really like to see a couple more iterations of this idea in Kristen’s stark, modern palette. I don’t throw porcelain, but something completely crisp white with black Deco racing stripes would be sweet.

Margaret Lim

Margaret Lim, a first generation immigrant to Canada, created this great jewelry inspired by traditional Chinese window dressings and her desire to learn more about her Chinese ancestors.

Check out this special read from bloesem for more great images of her work.
