The show Summer Heights High might be old news in Australia, but it’s about to be new news in the U.S. as HBO has just acquired the rights to rebroadcast the mockumentary about life in an Australian public high school.

What it really great about this show, besides the acting and the writing, is that due to the specific talents of Chris Lilley, American network executives could not recast Lilley with a slightly more attractive, less funny version (cough, cough, the Office). Additional anti-shark jumping qualities include the dizzying fact that Lilley writes series that actually end while you still want more (cough, cough, the Office).
