If you are into animation, you should start going to animation backgrounds where I found these awesome Paul Bunyan backgrounds.

I was never real attached to the Bunyan character - a giant ax-wielding Minnesotan of titanic strength (though I was hip to Babe, the blue ox). I do remember thinking the coloration was cool. I know now it is the work of Eyvind Earle who also worked on Lady and the Tramp, Peter Pan and Sleeping Beauty. So, his ideas about color were likely imprinted on your brain in the years of wee consciousness. Lucky you.

The background credits for Paul Bunyan also belong to Walt Peregoy, quite a painter in his own right.

The two styles were juxtaposed throughout the Bunyan featurette to create the works’ dynamic visuals.
