Classic: Kool-Aid, Comics and Atari
Wednesday, July 16th, 2008wheatpaste via Urban Prankster
How can anyone deny the branding coup that is Kool-Aid? It began with engaging packaging and stormed through the imaginations of children everywhere with ways to pimp the old lemonade stand, Marvel comics and atari games — both of which you could acquire with devout attention to Kool-Aid rebates.
With the ever popular animated pitcher crashing around, Kool-Aid has managed to become at once a timeless representation of youthful summer fun, mindless devotion and the mind exploding LSD-25.

Chris Lilley: The New Peter Sellers?
Saturday, April 26th, 2008The show Summer Heights High might be old news in Australia, but it’s about to be new news in the U.S. as HBO has just acquired the rights to rebroadcast the mockumentary about life in an Australian public high school.
What it really great about this show, besides the acting and the writing, is that due to the specific talents of Chris Lilley, American network executives could not recast Lilley with a slightly more attractive, less funny version (cough, cough, the Office). Additional anti-shark jumping qualities include the dizzying fact that Lilley writes series that actually end while you still want more (cough, cough, the Office).

SPY vs. SPY: Sneaks
Wednesday, January 16th, 2008I usually go for vintage or rare sneakers. Plus, I haven’t been in the high top game for a minute. But this 2007 Release from Puma x Bodega, SPY II Hi, has got my attention. This sneaker references the most famous and longest running MAD magazine comic, SPY vs. SPY. Picking up the spy theme in design: black and white color palette, morse code details, dynamite swing tags and a secret spy pocket.
