If your looking for some material for your summer soundtrack, try this online jukebox Mike’s Oldies. You can listen to his top ten Americana hits from each year 1950 to 1969, obscure doo wop and classic radio.

Image from her collection Japanese Melody. Her series on the European continental arctic (Maze, Sampi) are pretty perfect too.

Putting Brad Troemel on Notice

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Sure, Brad Troemel may be a good photographer. However, one of our A.O. staff members was profoundly upset when she discovered Brad’s photographic stash entitled “Canvases” below.

1.jpg2.jpg3-1.jpg

Let it be known, Brad: Our staff member has been drawing a comic about a “Meats n’ Sweets” shop wherein the items for sale include meats paired with sweets for years. The menu of the “Meats n’ Sweets” shop clearly includes sprinkled turkey legs, filet mignon with a scoop of bubble gum ice cream, and salmon pound cake among many, many other delectable items.

So, you, Mr. Troemel, are treading in dangerous, white chocolate coated shrimp filled waters.

The People of Sandwich Mountain

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

As far as we can tell, this is an ongoing series where these porcelain people get Amelied into different situations around the world.  The effect can be cool. Also, we can not get over how amazing the idea of a mountain of sandwiches makes us feel.
