Ok, Shur.

Emily Shur made these nice photos in a series called Wild, Wild Life.

She also does portraits of Celebrities-People-Who-Don’t-Like-Celebrities-Generally-Like and so you might like those alright even if You-Don’t-Like-Celebrities-or-Portraits-of-Celebrities.

Hacking the Mundane: Bath Mats

Posted March 10th, 2010 in design, green design, uncategorized

As a generally overwashed society, the bath mat is something you will encounter with regularity. Why not make it a pleasurable encounter?

I searched the giant retail warehouses in my area for an affordable bath mat that didn’t feel or look like cheap carpet without success.

So, I turned to the Great Online Emporium and found a selection that surpassed my criteria:

They are on sale for $18 USD — cheaper than my worst options in the retail store.

Organic, washable, square not rectangle and an opportunity to be synchronous without being overmatched.

I felt like something was won in the great battle against Bed, Bath and Be-yooond (Be-yooond here said in your best movie studio echo voice).

That is all.

Margriet knows What’s Going On.

Have you really looked at Margriet Smulders (self portrait above) melted flower mirror fabric oil painting photography?

I went and ogled her nice big pictures, but the people at lenscratch made a nice composite of her work if you want a nice color- coordinated overview.

Her work makes me feel less dead inside.

I like his work. I think this one is called, “No One Wants to Play Sega with Harrison Ford.”
